Bio | I am a biologist with a strong expertise in modeling intestinal inflammatory diseases ex vivo. I worked on the interface of cell biology and bioengineering, leading the effort for developing and implementing the biopsy-derived Colon Intestine-Chip in studying mechanisms that drive leaky-gut syndrome in humans. Beforehand, I studied the role of the adaptive response to stressors on maintaining intestinal homeostasis in animal models. I have received her Ph.D. in Experimental Physiology from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and have first or co-authored several research articles and patents. |
